Hope For Children
The School of St Yared is a program of Hope for Children, a registered Australian charity that has collaborated with communities in Addis Ababa and Eastern Ethiopia for the past decade to design and deliver integrated education, health and livelihood programs.
Hope for Children’s Ethiopian programs, with offices located in the heart of Gulele sub-city, currently employ 50 Ethiopian staff.
In addition to the School of St Yared, Hope for Children operates two sets of integrated programs:
Child, Youth and Community Program
The Child, Youth and Community Program implements a comprehensive community model to transform the lives of vulnerable children and their families.
Hope for Children aims to have participants in the Child, Youth and Community program job-ready, empowered to be independent economically and to contribute to their family, themselves and to their community.
Women and Child Livelihood Program
Operating in the Addis Ketema sub-city, the area with the highest prevalence of irregular migration inAddis Ababa, the Women and Child Livelihood Program works within the community to prevent, rehabilitate and reintegrate returned survivors of trafficking and provide economic opportunities for women and children vulnerable to trafficking.
